Backmasking

Backmasking is a recording technique where a sound or message is recorded backwards onto a track. When played forward, the backward message is usually hidden and inaudible, but it can be uncovered by reversing the playback. Artists sometimes used backmasking intentionally to embed secret messages or artistic effects, while others believed it was used to convey hidden or subversive content. It’s often associated with conspiracy theories, but technically, it’s a musical technique that involves adding intentionally reversed audio for creative or experimental purposes.
