BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) Limits
Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) measures the amount of alcohol in a person’s bloodstream, expressed as a percentage. For example, a BAC of 0.08% means 0.08 grams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. Most jurisdictions set legal limits for driving; typically, 0.08% is the cutoff in many places, meaning you’re considered legally impaired above this level. Lower limits (such as 0.02% or 0.05%) may apply to young or commercial drivers. BAC is affected by factors like body weight, alcohol quantity, and drinking rate. Exceeding legal limits impairs judgment, coordination, and reaction times, increasing the risk of accidents.
