Babylonian traditions
Babylonian traditions are cultural practices from ancient Babylonia, a civilization in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq). They included impressive achievements like advanced astronomy, mathematics, and complex religion centered on gods such as Marduk. Babylonians built grand ziggurats (step pyramids) and developed early legal codes, most notably the Code of Hammurabi, one of the world’s first written laws. Their traditions also involved elaborate rituals, festivals, and storytelling that honored their deities and reinforced social order. These practices significantly influenced later cultures and laid foundations for scientific and legal systems we still recognize today.
