Baby-Led Feeding (BLF)

Baby-Led Feeding (BLF) is an approach where infants are encouraged to self-feed solid foods from the start of their weaning process, typically around six months. Instead of spoon-feeding purees, babies are offered appropriately sized, soft pieces of real food to hold, bite, and chew at their own pace. This method promotes developmental skills like chewing, hand-eye coordination, and independence, while allowing babies to listen to their hunger cues. BLF emphasizes offering nutritious, family-friendly foods, supporting a positive and relaxed mealtime experience, and fostering healthy eating habits from an early age.
