Babbage's design documents

Babbage's design documents detailed plans for his Analytical Engine, an early mechanical computer. They described a machine with a central processing unit (the "mill"), storage (the "store"), and input/output mechanisms, resembling modern computers. Babbage envisioned it could perform complex calculations automatically by following stored instructions (programs), using punched cards for data and commands. The documents outlined hardware components, control flow, and programming concepts, laying the groundwork for concepts like loops and conditional execution. Although never built fully in his lifetime, these designs significantly influenced the development of modern computing.
