Baalshamin Temple
The Baalshamin Temple was an ancient Greco-Roman-style temple in Palmyra, Syria, dedicated to the sky god Baalshamin. Built in the 3rd century CE, it served as a religious site and a symbol of Palmyra’s religious and cultural significance. The temple featured grand columns and was part of the city’s impressive architectural complex. Unfortunately, it was heavily damaged and partially destroyed in 2015 during conflict in the region. Despite its destruction, the temple remains a historically important example of ancient Middle Eastern and Roman-influenced architecture and religious practices.
