Bökh
Bökh is a traditional form of wrestling originating from Mongolia, where competitors showcase strength, skill, and agility through various styles of grappling and takedowns. It is a culturally significant sport, often performed during festivals and celebrations, and emphasizes respect and discipline. The objective is to unbalance or throw the opponent onto the ground, typically on a dirt field called a “bökh.” Participants wear specific attire, such as a tight-fitting jacket called a “keg,” and the sport is both a display of physical prowess and a way to preserve Mongolian cultural heritage.
