Bắc Việt

Bắc Việt, or North Vietnam, was the communist-led government and territory in northern Vietnam from 1954 to 1976. It was established after Vietnam was divided following the First Indochina War, with its capital in Hanoi. Bắc Việt was aligned with the Soviet Union and China, promoting socialist policies. During the Vietnam War, it supported the insurgency in South Vietnam against the US-backed government, aiming for reunification under communist rule. In 1976, Bắc Việt and South Vietnam unified to form the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, with Hanoi as its capital.
