Axi-Cel

Axi-Cel (Axicabtagene Ciloleucel) is a type of advanced cancer treatment called CAR T-cell therapy. It is personalized, using a patient’s own immune cells (T-cells) that are modified in a lab to better recognize and attack cancer cells. After modification, the cells are infused back into the patient’s bloodstream, where they seek out and destroy cancer. This approach is primarily used for certain types of blood cancers, like lymphoma, and has shown promising results, especially in cases where traditional treatments haven’t been effective.
