AVNOJ

AVNOJ, the Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation of Yugoslavia, was a political body established in 1942 during World War II to unite different resistance groups fighting against Axis occupation. It served as the provisional government, making decisions about the country's future. AVNOJ aimed to create a federal Yugoslavia with broad democratic participation, challenging the existing royal government.
