Avicenna's theories of vision

Avicenna (Ibn Sina) believed that vision occurs when the eye receives and processes rays from objects. He proposed that light reflects from objects into the eye, forming clear images through the interaction of the eye's faculties. According to him, the eye contains a special “agent” responsible for perceiving these reflected rays, and the clarity of vision depends on the precise interaction between light, the eye’s inner structures, and the soul’s perceptive faculty. His theory emphasized the importance of both physical light and the active role of the mind or soul in perceiving and understanding visual information.
