aviation emissions
Aviation emissions refer to the gases released into the atmosphere when airplanes burn fuel during flight. These emissions primarily include carbon dioxide (CO₂), a greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change by trapping heat in the Earth's atmosphere. Although aviation accounts for a relatively small portion of global emissions, its impact is significant because of the high altitude at which planes operate, which can have additional warming effects. Efforts to reduce aviation emissions focus on improving fuel efficiency, developing alternative fuels, and exploring new technologies like electric or hybrid aircraft to make flying more sustainable.
