Avalanche transceiver use

An avalanche transceiver is a device used in snow rescue scenarios to locate individuals buried under snow. When turned on, it emits radio signals that help rescuers identify the direction and distance of a buried person who also wears a transceiver set to transmit. By switching between transmit and receive modes, rescuers can narrow down the location. The device's display and beeps guide rescuers closer until they reach the victim. Proper use involves setting your transceiver to transmit when skiing or snowboarding in avalanche-prone areas and switching to receive if someone else needs to locate you.
