AV Block

Atrial ventricular (AV) block is a condition where the electrical signals between the heart's upper chambers (atria) and lower chambers (ventricles) are delayed or blocked altogether. This disrupts the normal heartbeat rhythm, which can cause symptoms like dizziness, weakness, or fainting. There are different types: some mild, where signals are slowed, and others more severe, where signals are completely blocked. Treatment depends on the severity and may include medications or a pacemaker to help maintain a regular heartbeat and ensure the heart pumps blood effectively.
