Autosomal traits

Autosomal traits are characteristics determined by genes located on the autosomes, which are the 22 pairs of chromosomes that are the same in males and females. These traits are inherited independently of sex and can include physical features like eye color, hair type, or blood type. Because they are carried on autosomes, both males and females have two copies of each gene influencing these traits. The way these genes are inherited can be dominant or recessive, affecting how likely a trait is to appear in a person.
