Autoregulation

Autoregulation is the body's way of adjusting blood flow to organs and tissues based on their needs, without external commands. For example, if an area like your muscles or brain requires more oxygen during activity, blood vessels in that region expand to increase blood supply. Conversely, when the demand decreases, vessels constrict to reduce flow. This automatic process helps maintain stable blood pressure and optimal function, ensuring tissues receive appropriate nourishment and oxygen even as activity levels or external conditions change.
