Austrian Intelligence Service
The Austrian Intelligence Service, known as the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz und Terrorismusbekämpfung (BVT), is Austria’s national security agency responsible for safeguarding the country’s constitutional order. It gathers and analyzes information related to terrorism, extremism, espionage, and other threats, both domestically and internationally. The agency works closely with other federal and international intelligence entities to prevent security risks, support law enforcement, and protect Austria’s democratic institutions. It operates under strict legal oversight to ensure that its activities respect citizens' rights while effectively countering threats to national security.
