Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies

The Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is a government-supported organization dedicated to the study, preservation, and promotion of the cultures, languages, and histories of Australia’s Indigenous peoples. It collects and shares valuable Indigenous knowledge, supports research, and provides resources to ensure that the rich heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is respected, accessible, and recognized nationally and internationally. AIATSIS plays a key role in fostering understanding and reconciliation by advocating for Indigenous rights and cultural integrity within Australian society.
