Australian GST Law

Australian GST (Goods and Services Tax) is a 10% tax applied to most goods and services sold in Australia. Businesses registered for GST add this amount to their prices and later send the collected GST to the Australian Tax Office (ATO). GST-registered businesses can also claim credits for the GST they've paid on their own business purchases. Essentially, GST is a consumption tax that helps fund government services, and its system ensures that the tax is effectively passed on through the supply chain while allowing businesses to recover GST paid on inputs.
