Australian Electoral College

Australia does not have an Electoral College like the United States. Instead, it has a parliamentary system where citizens vote directly for their representatives in the federal Parliament. Members of the House of Representatives are elected through preferential voting in individual constituencies, while Senators are elected via a proportional representation system across states and territories. The political party or coalition with the most seats then forms the government. This system emphasizes direct voter influence on Parliament rather than an intermediary electoral body, ensuring representation aligns closely with the popular vote.
