Australian Consumer Law
Australian Consumer Law (ACL) is a set of rules that protect consumers when buying goods and services. It ensures products are safe, match descriptions, and are of acceptable quality. If a product is faulty or not as promised, consumers have rights to repairs, replacements, or refunds. The law also prohibits unfair business practices like misleading advertising and scams. Managed by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), ACL aims to promote fairness in the marketplace, making transactions transparent and trustworthy for both consumers and businesses.
