Australia’s Paid Parental Leave Scheme
Australia’s Paid Parental Leave Scheme provides eligible working parents with financial support during the early stages of a child’s life. Eligible primary carers can receive up to 18 weeks of pay at the national minimum wage, helping them to spend time with their newborn or newly adopted child without financial stress. The scheme encourages new parents to take leave and supports bonding and early care. It is designed to complement other family payments and is available for both birth and adoptive parents, provided they meet residence and work requirements.
