AusAID (Australian Agency for International Development)

AusAID, or the Australian Agency for International Development, was the government agency responsible for managing Australia’s foreign aid programs aimed at reducing poverty and supporting sustainable development in developing countries. It provided funding and expertise to help improve health, education, infrastructure, and governance, fostering stability and economic growth. In 2013, AusAID merged into the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), integrating aid delivery into broader diplomatic efforts. Its goal was to build stronger, more resilient communities worldwide, aligning aid with Australia’s foreign policy interests while promoting global stability and development.
