Aurangzeb (Jahangir's son)

Aurangzeb was a Mughal emperor who ruled India from 1658 to 1707. He was the son of Emperor Shah Jahan and the grandson of Jahangir. Known for his strict and conservative Islamic policies, Aurangzeb expanded the empire significantly but also imposed religious restrictions that led to internal conflicts. His reign saw military expansion, but also increased tensions with Hindu communities. Aurangzeb's rule is often viewed as a period of both territorial growth and internal strain, which eventually contributed to the decline of the Mughal Empire.
