Aulonocara is a genus of freshwater fish known as peacock cichlids, native to Lake Malawi in Africa. They are admired for their vibrant colors, which can include blues, yellows, and reds, making them popular in the aquarium trade. These fish are relatively peaceful and form breeding pairs, often exhibiting bright displays during mating. Aulonocara prefer rocky environments with plenty of hiding spots and clean, well-oxygenated water.
