Audism

Audism is a form of discrimination or prejudice against people who are deaf or hard of hearing. It involves believing that hearing people are superior, or assuming that deaf individuals are less capable, which can lead to unequal treatment and barriers in communication, employment, education, and social interactions. Audism can be subtle or obvious, but it generally dismisses or undermines the value of deaf culture and the use of sign language. Recognizing audism helps promote respect, equality, and inclusion for deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.
