Audiometric tests
Audiometric tests are procedures used by hearing specialists to assess how well you can hear different sounds and pitches. During the test, you wear headphones and listen to a series of tones at varying volumes and frequencies. When you hear a sound, you signal, and the tester records the quietest level you can detect, called your hearing threshold. This helps identify any hearing loss, its degree, and whether it affects high or low frequencies. The results are typically plotted on an audiogram, a chart that provides a visual overview of your hearing health.
