Attorney General (England)

The Attorney General for England and Wales is the United Kingdom's chief legal advisor to the government and the Crown. They oversee the legal aspects of government policies, represent the government in high-level legal matters, and have responsibilities in criminal justice and law enforcement. While historically involved in prosecuting cases, their role has shifted mainly to providing legal advice and oversight, ensuring government actions comply with the law. The Attorney General also has a role in legal proceedings before the courts and advises Parliament and government departments on legal issues.
