Attachments Theory

Attachments Theory, developed by psychologist John Bowlby, explains how early relationships with caregivers shape our emotional bonds and behaviors in later relationships. It suggests that if a child’s needs for comfort and security are consistently met, they develop a healthy, trusting attitude towards others. Conversely, inconsistent or unresponsive caregiving can lead to insecure attachment styles, affecting how individuals trust, communicate, and connect with others throughout life. In essence, our early experiences form the foundation for how we form and maintain emotional bonds as adults.
