ATTAC (Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions and Citizen's Action)
ATTAC (Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions and Citizen's Action) is an international organization advocating for a financial transaction tax—often called the "Tobin tax." This tax would be applied to trades of financial assets such as stocks and currencies to reduce speculative, short-term trading and generate revenue for public services. ATTAC aims to promote economic justice, environmental sustainability, and democratic control over the financial system by encouraging fair taxation and curbing harmful financial speculation. Its goal is to make the financial industry more responsible and aligned with societal needs.
