atrial flutter

Atrial flutter is a heart rhythm disorder where the upper chambers of the heart (atria) beat very quickly and in a regular pattern. This rapid heartbeat can cause symptoms like palpitations, shortness of breath, or fatigue. It happens because abnormal electrical signals cause the atria to contract rapidly and repeatedly, disrupting normal heart function. While often treatable, atrial flutter can increase the risk of stroke and other complications if not managed. Medical interventions may include medications, procedures to restore normal rhythm, or lifestyle changes, all aimed at maintaining a healthy heartbeat.
