Atopic conditions
Atopic conditions are allergic diseases caused by an overactive immune response to common environmental allergens. They include conditions like allergic rhinitis (hay fever), asthma, and atopic dermatitis (eczema). These conditions happen when the immune system mistakenly identifies harmless substances, such as pollen, dust mites, or pet dander, as threats, leading to inflammation and allergy symptoms. Often, individuals with one atopic condition are prone to others, and genetics can play a role in their development. Managing atopic conditions involves avoiding triggers, medications, and sometimes immunotherapy to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.
