Atmospheric gases
Atmospheric gases are the various gases that make up Earth's air, forming a mixture that surrounds the planet. The most abundant is nitrogen (about 78%), followed by oxygen (about 21%), with small amounts of argon, carbon dioxide, neon, and other gases. These gases are essential for supporting life, regulating temperature, and protecting us from harmful solar radiation. They exist in a thin layer around Earth, called the atmosphere, which extends thousands of kilometers but is densest near the surface. This mixture constantly interacts, influencing weather, climate, and the environment we live in.
