Atlantic Creole
Atlantic Creole refers to a group of diverse people and cultures that emerged in the Atlantic World from the 16th to 19th centuries. These individuals, often of African, European, and Indigenous origins, developed a shared language, customs, and social practices as they interacted through trade, colonization, and slavery across the Atlantic region. Atlantic Creoles played a key role in shaping cultural exchanges, economic activities, and social systems in the Americas and West Africa, bridging different backgrounds and influencing the development of new, hybrid identities.
