ATK (Atletico de Kolkata)

ATK, or Atletico de Kolkata, was an Indian professional football team based in Kolkata. Founded in 2014 as part of the Indian Super League (ISL), it quickly became one of the league’s most successful teams, winning two championships. The club was a collaboration between Spain’s Atlético Madrid and local Indian partners. Known for their disciplined play and talented roster, ATK helped boost football’s popularity in India. In 2020, it merged with another team to become ATK Mohun Bagan, continuing its legacy in Indian football.
