Atatürk Airport
Atatürk Airport, located in Istanbul, Turkey, was the country’s main international airport until 2019. Named after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, it served as a major hub for air travel, connecting numerous destinations worldwide. The airport featured modern facilities, including multiple terminals for domestic and international flights. In 2019, it was replaced by Istanbul Airport, which has a larger capacity. Atatürk Airport has since been repurposed for cargo flights and general aviation, while part of the site is being developed into a public park and cultural space.
