Atapuerca (archaeological site)

Atapuerca is an important archaeological site in Spain that contains some of the earliest human fossils in Europe, dating back over a million years. Located in northern Spain, it consists of a series of caves and tunnels where scientists have uncovered ancient tools, bones, and remains of early humans known as Homo antecessor and Homo heidelbergensis. These discoveries provide valuable insights into human evolution, migration, and behavior during the Paleolithic era. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Atapuerca helps us understand our ancient ancestors and their way of life.
