Atacamites

Atacamites are a type of mineral called a mineral salt, specifically a copper chloride hydrate, that forms as a secondary mineral in arid, oxidizing environments like deserts. They typically appear as bluish-green, crystalline or fibrous deposits often found in copper-rich areas. Atacamites develop when copper minerals react with chloride-rich fluids, usually in conditions with low moisture. Their vibrant color and unique crystal structure make them interesting to collectors and mineralogists. While they are generally stable, they can alter when exposed to moisture or other environmental changes.
