ATAC-seq

ATAC-seq (Assay for Transposase-Accessible Chromatin using sequencing) is a technique to identify open regions of DNA in cells, which often correspond to active genes. It uses an enzyme called transposase that inserts sequencing adapters into accessible parts of the genome. These regions are less tightly packed, allowing the enzyme to access and tag them. By sequencing these tagged DNA segments, scientists can determine which parts of the genome are open and potentially active, providing insights into gene regulation, cell function, and how cells respond to different conditions.
