ASW tactics
Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) tactics are strategies used by naval forces to detect, track, and neutralize enemy submarines. Modern ASW involves using sonar (underwater microphones) to locate submarines, deploying ships, aircraft, and underwater drones to hunt them, and utilizing anti-submarine weapons like torpedoes or depth charges to destroy them. Tactics include coordinated patrols, deploying decoys to confuse enemies, and using underwater sensors to monitor submarine activity. The goal is to protect naval assets and maintain control of strategic maritime areas by effectively identifying and countering submarine threats.
