Astrobleme

An astrobleme is a geological formation created when a large asteroid or comet impacts the Earth's surface at high speed. This collision releases immense energy, forming a crater and sometimes causing widespread geological changes. Over time, erosion and other natural processes may obscure the original structure, but the impact's evidence remains in the form of unique rock features, mineral deposits, or circular structures. Astroblemes are important to scientists because they reveal Earth's history of cosmic collisions and can sometimes influence local or global environmental changes.
