Astro-THz missions involve studying the universe using Terahertz (THz) frequencies, which lie between infrared and microwave light. These wavelengths can reveal hidden details about cosmic phenomena such as star formation, black holes, and molecular clouds, which are often obscured in visible light. Since Earth's atmosphere absorbs much of the THz radiation, these missions typically involve space-based or high-altitude observatories.
