Asteroseismology

Asteroseismology is the study of stars’ internal structures by analyzing the vibrations and oscillations they produce. Similar to how seismologists study earthquakes to understand Earth's interior, astronomers observe patterns in a star's brightness or surface movements to reveal details about its inner layers, such as composition, density, and age. These oscillations are caused by the star’s internal processes and help scientists gain insights into stellar evolution, structure, and life cycles, enhancing our understanding of the cosmos without direct sampling.
