Assyrian nationality
Assyrian nationality refers to the ethnic identity of the Assyrian people, an ancient civilization originating from Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran). While not a nation-state, they share a common language (Assyrian Neo-Aramaic), culture, history, and religious traditions, primarily Christianity. Many Assyrians consider themselves a distinct ethnic group with a continuous presence in the Middle East spanning thousands of years. Due to political and social upheavals, their community also resides in diaspora, maintaining their identity through cultural preservation and advocacy for recognition and rights.
