Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities
The Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities (APVA), now known as Preservation Virginia, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Virginia’s historical landmarks, buildings, and artifacts. Founded in 1889, it works to maintain important sites from America’s past, promote historic preservation efforts, and educate the public about Virginia’s heritage. By restoring and safeguarding these sites, APVA helps keep the state's history alive for future generations and promotes a deeper understanding of Virginia’s cultural and historical significance.
