Associate for the Study of African American Life and History

The Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) is an organization dedicated to exploring and promoting the history, culture, and contributions of African Americans. Established in 1915 by Carter G. Woodson, it aims to increase awareness and understanding of African American experiences through research, education, and community initiatives. ASALH also coordinates initiatives like Black History Month to honor cultural heritage and foster appreciation of African American achievements across society.
