Assist-Control (AC) Mode
Assist-Control (AC) mode is a setting used in mechanical ventilators to support patients with breathing difficulties. In AC mode, the ventilator delivers a set number of breaths at a predetermined volume or pressure. If the patient initiates a breath on their own, the ventilator assists by delivering the full preset support for that breath. If the patient does not breathe voluntarily, the ventilator automatically provides the full assist at each interval. This mode ensures consistent ventilation, supporting patients who have an irregular breathing pattern or cannot breathe effectively on their own.
