Assembly of Scotland

The Scottish Assembly, formally known as the Scottish Parliament, is the devolved governing body responsible for making decisions on various issues within Scotland, such as education, health, and transportation. It was established in 1999 to give Scots a say in their local matters, operating alongside the UK Parliament in Westminster. The Parliament is composed of Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) elected by Scottish residents. It functions to create laws, allocate funding, and shape policies that directly impact life in Scotland, while other powers like defense and foreign affairs remain under the UK's central government.
