Assembly Constituency

An Assembly Constituency is a specific geographic area within a state that elects a representative to the state's legislative assembly. Citizens residing in that area vote to choose their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), who then represents their interests in state governance. These constituencies are established to ensure local communities have a voice in creating laws and policies that affect their region. The boundaries of an assembly constituency are determined through a process called delimitation, which aims to fairly distribute representation based on population size and geographic considerations.
