Assassination of William McKinley
William McKinley, the 25th U.S. President, was assassinated on September 6, 1901, by Leon Czolgosz, an anarchist. During the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York, Czolgosz shot McKinley twice in the abdomen with a concealed pistol. Despite medical efforts, the president’s injuries led to his death on September 14, 1901. The attack was driven by Czolgosz's political beliefs against government authority and capitalism. His assassination marked a significant moment in American history, leading to increased security measures for presidents.
